Rossendale Road is a residential home dedicated to improving the quality of life and skills for individuals with a brain injury. We specialise in supporting individuals’ cognitive, physical and emotional skills and self-esteem post injury.
An experienced support team is supported by specialist therapeutic provision where required. This can include:
- Neuro-Psychology
- Neuro-Psychiatry
- Neuro-OT
- Neuro-Physiotherapy
- Neuro-Speech and Language Therapy
- Counselling
Therapeutic goals are integrated in daily functional activity through measured goals, and through a positive and supportive team. Goals are measured using the GAS (goal attainment scaling) system, which ensures the support team carry out therapeutic goals accurately and consistently as designed by the lead therapist.
Each individual has a bespoke person centred support plan. Daily activities, goals and programmes are designed to work towards the individuals’ long term aspirations, and are staged to maximise success.
Because the needs of individuals vary, Rossendale Road can provide different levels of support. These include:
- Short/medium term goal focussed rehabilitation placements
- Long term cognitive, emotional and behavioural support
- Respite placements
- Outreach support for individuals with a brain injury or mental health needs in their own homes/tenancies
- Vocational support
As well as therapeutic and independence skills development, individuals are supported to engage in vocational, leisure activities and holidays and to maintain social links with friends and family. Rossendale Road has a proven track record of working with people towards greater independence, many of whom are supported into their own tenancies.

Facilities
Rossendale Road is comprised of six flats and seven en-suite rooms. The home benefits from spacious living areas including a quiet room, three television rooms, a well-equipped activity room and a training kitchen and diner, as well as the main domestic style kitchen, shared dining room and gardens. The home has level access and suitable for wheelchair users and those with mobility or perceptual needs.
