At Barrington House we support seven people who have learning disabilities and other needs.
Your needs are at the heart of all we do. We have experience of supporting people who have autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, varying degrees of complex needs and mild to moderate mental health needs. We can also offer behaviour support.
We support everyone to become citizens in their own right, to build relationships within their local community and build their independence. We ensure that the residents we support are actively involved in the recruitment process, induction and development of the staff team.
The people who live in Barrington House are very sociable and like nothing better than to have people from other residential homes and their families and friends over for a party.
We ensure that everyone has as active a social life as they want and is supported to choose and plan a holiday.
Barrington House is situated in the village of Beith in North Ayrshire which is approximately 20 miles from the city of Glasgow and seven miles from the larger shopping town of Paisley.
Public transport to Glasgow and Paisley is available directly outside the home. Residents who live here also enjoy trips to the local swimming pool in Kilbirnie and the coast. Beith is a small rural town.
Although it is a small town there are a variety of shops, pubs and a library within walking distance. There is also a large park, local country walks and a community centre which is used for sports activities and social clubs. We have access to a swimming pool and gyms in nearby Kilbirnie.
Barrington House is wheelchair accessible, and bedrooms are situated on both the ground floor and the first floor.
