Five Penny House offers support to six individuals with a learning disability who may also have autistic spectrum disorders and physical disabilities.
Staff are committed to understanding each individual’s preferences and wishes. Everyone is encouraged to become involved in the day to day running of the home, building daily living skills. There is a kitchen where everyone can take part in meal preparation, supported by staff.
Five Penny House is close to Hartlepool town centre with good public transport links. We encourage everyone to make use of local amenities and be as independent as possible.
We visit shops, pubs and clubs as well as attending local events.
The wider area has many leisure facilities which allow individuals to take part in a variety of activities; this includes a swimming pool.
Five Penny House is a detached property with six bedrooms – one bedroom has ensuite facilities, and the bedrooms on the upper floor can be accessed using a stair lift.
The shared areas include a dining room, a conservatory and a large lounge where residents can spend time with others and take part in activities. There is a large, enclosed garden with a lawn and patio area which provides a pleasant place to relax.
