Woodlands is a residential care home located in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. We provide specialist care and support for up to 14 people with brain injuries.
Facilities
Woodlands is a two-storey home with 10 en-suite bedrooms, one self-contained flat and three step-down bungalows at the back of the property. Individuals can transition from one of our bedrooms to the independent flat/bungalows as their skills improve.
All rooms have the option of a ceiling tracking if required, and the home has wheelchair accessibility throughout.
Our home has lots of shared communal areas, including a spacious living room, dining room and kitchen. This offers the people we support flexibility to socialise with others or spend time alone.
We also have a large grassy garden, perfect for spending time outdoors, and a separate mindfulness garden where we grow a variety of plants!
Supporting you
Our home is carefully designed and adapted to meet the needs of every person who lives here. Our aim is to help you increase your self-confidence, while regaining as much independence as possible.
We offer more than somewhere to live – this is somewhere for you to make your home. We work closely with you, understanding your goals so we can provide you with the right support.
We offer a range of therapies including speech and language, Neuro-physiotherapy, Neuro-occupational therapy, Psychology input and creative therapies. Programmes are carefully designed and integrated into your daily routine.
Our support is based on rehabilitation techniques which strive to increase your independence and, where considered appropriate, progress is monitored closely using Goal Attainment Scaling.
We encourage you to create your own activity programme, which is tailored to your interests and makes full use of facilities available in the local community. A diverse programme of activities is offered, tailored to individual tastes. These include outdoor pursuits, music, art and life skills workshops.
