Moorfields Lodge
Moorfields Lodge, 80 West Lane, Haworth, KEIGHLEY, West Yorkshire, BD22 8EN, United Kingdom
Moorfields Lodge is a National Autistic Society accredited residential care home in Yorkshire. We provide specialist support for up to four adults with a range of needs, including autism, learning disabilities, low levels of challenging behaviour, and epilepsy.
Supporting you
We deliver person-centred care and support that empowers people to increase their independence and lead the lives they choose. As a National Autistic Society accredited home, we continuously work along an expert-guided framework to improve the lives and outcomes of autistic people, supporting them to achieve their goals and become active members of their community.
Through consistent, structured support, we help them establish routines and seek opportunities that are meaningful to them. We tailor activities to support skills development and encourage positive social interactions. Empowering each person to be their authentic selves, we support a variety of non-verbal communication methods.
We encourage the people we support to have autonomy and make decisions about their lives and their home. With our support, they are empowered to develop their daily living skills and collaboratively care for their home with their housemates. Together, they enjoy cooking, baking, organising trips to the local pub and seaside, and sensory activities.
Facilities
Moorfields Lodge is a detached home located within a welcoming residential area in the heart of the Yorkshire moorlands, where we benefit from picturesque views and peaceful surroundings.
Fully equipped to meet our housemates’ needs, our homely atmosphere comprises four private bedrooms and extensive communal spaces. We have two well-proportioned gardens, three living rooms, a kitchen, and two conservatories – one is used as a dining area and the other as a dedicated activities area. Our conservatories overlook our gardens, which also include an accessible patio area, equipped with tables and chairs for enjoying the serenity of the surrounding area.

Community
Moorfields Lodge is situated in a quiet, semi-rural village location. We benefit from easy access to a range of essential, everyday amenities, including shops, cafés, and pubs. Our home is easily accessed via local bus routes, which keep us connected to the wider community, and we benefit from a bus stop close to the home. We also have our own vehicle, supporting access to places further afield.
Our housemates are active members of the community and embrace a range of activities and opportunities. Together, we enjoy having meals out, shopping trips, bowling, going to the cinema, and pursuing leisure activities, such as swimming. Many of our housemates also enjoy attending church services and connecting with other nearby Voyage Care services for special celebrations and socialising.
Our Team
Our devoted team takes time to nurture a homely environment that is respectful of each person’s unique needs. The people we support love to be active, so we work with them to ensure each day is enjoyable but flexible and always tailored to their needs.
As a specialist autism service, we benefit from external governance from the National Autistic Society, which includes additional, specialist training. Our team are skilled and confident in supporting the needs of autistic people, including emotional needs and behaviours of distress. We are trained in safety interventions and always prioritise the wellbeing and safety of the people we support. We are also trained to support people with a learning disability and those with epilepsy.
