Ruddington View

Supporting you

Ruddington View can support up to eight people. We can provide residential care and support for six individuals, and can provide unplanned care and support for two individuals.

Step down - transitional support, providing a pathway to supported living

Ruddington View offers bespoke support for people stepping down from a hospital setting as part of a staged pathway. We offer a safe and comfortable environment for people who may have a history of high risk behaviour to themselves or other.

We are focused on providing a responsive, safe and supportive service to facilitate you to move on through one to one care. We can support you to access local amenities such as the library, sports centre, shops, restaurants, pubs and more, as well as to develop independent living skills within the home.

Our team will support you to develop skills and confidence to enable you to move on to supported living and community support. Before taking this step, people can move into one of our step down flats where to gain experience.

Step up - unplanned care flats

Ruddington View has been developed in collaboration with Nottinghamshire Transforming Care Partnership (TCP). Ruddington View offers unplanned care flats for people who may be at risk of admission to an inpatient setting. We can offer up to 12 weeks’ support as a short term intervention. The flats are self-contained with access separate from the main house.

We are focused on providing a responsive, safe and supportive service for you. The team also work closely with the each person’s family and health care professionals. This is to ensure continuity of care and to facilitate a return home where possible or progression to a new community setting.

Location

Located in a peaceful village, Ruddington provides a tranquil setting whilst offering quick access to Nottingham city centre.

Facilities

A bespoke environment has been developed at Ruddington View. The main house boasts a communal dining room, an open plan kitchen, a spacious living room and a large, well-maintained garden. Each room has an en-suite bathroom, and there are also additional private bathrooms accessible within the home. The two spacious unplanned care flats are located on the ground floor and are also equipped with large en-suites, a sofa and a dining area.

The entire property is safe and spacious, perfect for finding somewhere to relax in private or socialising with others. The home has been fitted with safety features throughout as well as a gated entrance.

The team

We have over 40 staff members that are highly trained and experienced, who are dedicated to providing excellent support. We use a values based recruitment process which matches staff experience and skills to the person supported.

A bespoke learning and development programme has been developed for our staff, including the courses based on forensic support, behavioural support and risk management, which complement our standard training programme.

About me

I have been working in social care (in a variety of settings) for 30 years. I joined Voyage Care in 2005 as a support worker and through development opportunities, commenced my current role in 2016.

As I developed within Voyage Care, I have experienced all roles within residential services which include support worker, senior support worker, deputy home manager and home manager. I also have experience with setting up and managing supported living services. This has enabled me to have an understanding of others roles within the business.

I truly love my role and strive, alongside my managers, for excellent quality care. I would like to think I am a good leader, listener and passionate about what I do.

In my personal life I am mum to three adult children and a nanny to a three-year-old granddaughter.
