Supporting you
We offer high levels of specialist support to five individuals, who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex needs. We also provide specialist support to six autistic people.
Our aim is to empower those in the home through positive behavioural support. We maintain a focus on the individual, encouraging personal growth and development in a safe, non-threatening way. We aim to encourage personal exploration and development.
Autism is a very complex condition which affects individuals in different ways and we strive to tailor practice and structure in the service to the specific needs and abilities of each person, to offer a truly person-centred approach.
Facilities
Each home has been carefully adapted to meet the needs of the people who live there, with the communal and personal areas designed to create a warm and friendly home environment, while also catering for the issues and tolerances the autistic people we support.
We have a sensory room, which was designed to empower and encourage emotional development, whilst always maintaining the focus on supporting physical disabilities appropriately.
We have some impressive features, such as ensuite facilities for each of the six bedrooms and communal areas which include a large dining room, a lounge, an activity room, and a well-appointed kitchen.
Our Lavender House has specifically been designed and decorated to the highest standards throughout, using specific guidance from National Autistic Society literature and other respected sources of information, to ensure that those living there are given every opportunity to live without some of the chaos and confusion that autism can bring.
