Day opportunities 
At Cranmer Day Services we provide meaningful activities for individuals with profound learning, physical and sensory disabilities.
The service was originally set up to meet the needs of individuals who had complex needs that could not be met by other day services in the area and is the only day service in the Wolverhampton area that specialises in working with adults with suc complex care needs.
Supporting you
The centre’s philosophy is person-centred, encouraging social, psychological and physical development by offering stimulating and meaningful activities.
We explore as many opportunities as possible, often challenging stereotypes linked to people with profound sensory and physical disabilities.
The staff are always willing to try out new ideas; their motto is “where there’s a will there’s a way”!We facilitate activities that people may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience, such as ice-skating, fishing, hydrotherapy, playing sports such as Boccia, as well as enjoying visits to the cinema, theatre, local historical sites, museums, the sea life centre, safari parks, zoos, farms and falconry centres.
Communication makes a huge difference to a person’s quality of life. We have worked in close collaboration with speech and language therapists to implement various communication methods and aids and each person has their own communication passport.
The people we support also have a daily diary, enabling the staff to share information with parents and carers on important issues such as health, activities undertaken and food and drink consumption. This contributes to a seamless lifestyle for the people we support.
We also produce a quarterly Cranmer newsletter, in which we include articles and photographs of individuals enjoying the many activities they have enjoyed participating in.
Facilities
Cranmer Day Services has a sensory garden with a water feature, wind chimes and mosaics which provide opportunities for gardening activities, as well as a place to relax.
The centre boasts a large sensory room which is used for physiotherapy, sensory stimulation, position changes and relaxation. Cranmer also has an activity room where creative art, sensory cooking sessions and music take place.
