Supporting you
The Knowls provides specialist support for up to 13 individuals with a range of learning and/or physical disabilities, brain injuries, autism, visual and hearing impairments and challenging behaviour.
We support our residents to be the best they can be, through adapted environments and state of the art approaches that empower and enable individuals to thrive.
We have a culture of open support, which ensures we deliver person-centred care to a high standard. Our staff supports each person to develop their feelings and emotions in a positive way in order to achieve their goals and aspirations and become more independent.
Facilities
The Knowls is a large Victorian house with a lot of character. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and can be adapted and personalised according to individual needs and tastes. There are spacious shared areas, including three lounges, a large dining area, two training kitchens and a main kitchen, which is available for everyone to use with supervision and support when needed.
The Knowls has two separate gardens including a patio area which enables recreational sports, barbeques and open tea parties in the summer. We support the residents to grow their own vegetables within the garden if they want to.
The team
We have a well-trained and skilled staff team who provide 24 hour care and support. This is carried out with the support of a range of external medical professionals, occupational therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists, as well as family, friends and advocates.
The team are motivated and positive, enabling the people we support to fulfil and enjoy their lives.
