Wellington Road is a well-established home providing support for up to eleven individuals with autism and learning disabilities. The homely atmosphere is second to none with a committed team who go out of their way to provide excellent support. Most of the staff have worked here for a long time, offering stability for the people they support.
There is a lovely welcoming atmosphere and families get very involved – one parent even holds baking sessions in the home. Everyone here loves socialising and a good party!
The home is a five minute walk from Taunton, with parks, shops and leisure activities all within walking distance. It is also very close to the largest adult education college in Somerset which offers a wide range of courses. The home is on a main bus route and there is a major train station in the town centre.
Our home consists of 11 bedrooms, communal areas and gardens that are in constant use. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and individuals are supported to decorate and furnish their bedrooms as they wish.
Residents of Wellington Road are supported by a dedicated and experienced team of support staff. We have a culture of open support which ensures they deliver person-centred care to a high standard. The team are motivated and positive, enabling the people we support to enjoy life.
The team excel at supporting people with limited communication and there are many different forms of communication in use throughout the house including visual activity schedules, PECS, visual prompts and social stories.
