Residential care home 
Barley close is a residential care home for up to ten people with severe learning disabilities and related healthcare conditions. This lovely traditional old farmhouse gives you the true feel of “home from home” surrounded by stunning views of the countryside.
Facilities
At Barley Close, we have a large communal lounge, dining and activity rooms, a spacious conservatory, kitchen, and an in-house sensory room. We also have a training kitchen with low level worktops where everyone can help prepare meals with support staff.
We have rustic, landscaped gardens with a large patio area and herb garden. Each of our bedrooms are large and comfortable with en-suite facilities. All the ground floor bedrooms are wheelchair accessible and have ceiling tracking. Further adaptations can be made to meet individuals’ needs.
All areas of Barley Close are specially designed to respond to the various needs of the people who live there, while maintaining a warm environment.
Supporting you
We aim to support each resident to live life to the fullest and we continually strive to discover new challenges, which enrich their life experiences. We offer a varied programme of in-house activities, including music, art innovation, massage and reflexology.
Everyone is encouraged and supported to make the most of the facilities available to them in the community, including social clubs, churches and schools. We provide varied activities, both within and outside of the service, which cater to our resident’s needs.
The care and support we offer at Barley Close is truly person-centred. Our friendly staff team get to know the people we support and tailor every day to their needs, choices and aspirations. Our care packages are carefully designed to reflect not only the person’s needs, but also their choices and aspirations.
Current room vacancies
We currently have three vacancies at Barley Close. Our first floor room is a bright and airy room with views over the countryside. Complete with a sizable en-suite featuring a bath, this room is perfect for somebody with mobility. Our two ground floor rooms both have their own en-suites fitted with ceiling hoist tracking systems, ideal for those with limited mobility.
