Titchfield Lodge is a small home for four adults with severe learning disabilities and additional complex needs. We offers a calm, sensory-focused environment with positive support and opportunities to maximise individual experiences. Our residents are non-verbal and have high sensory and communication needs.
Supporting you
Our home has been designed to support people with visual impairment needs and to promote independence through clear distinctions between rooms. Everyone here enjoys various activities including courses in cookery, Makaton, swimming and hydro sessions, and music therapy.
Facilities
Our home has been colourfully decorated with painted murals and lighting, along with musical instruments, sensory areas and sensory items around the home to enhance engagement and stimulate interaction. Titchfield Lodge has a large lounge with adjoining sensory area. There is a separate conservatory used as a dining room and a further communal room which houses the piano and other augmentative communication resources. We have a beautiful, long back garden with a summer house that is set up for sensory and intensive interactions. The people who live at Titchfield Lodge love spending time in the garden, enjoying the sensory aspects, space and textures. Throughout the year we also have deer visiting the garden.
The team
Our staff are well trained in non-verbal communication and intensive interaction. We focus on providing the best possible support through a good understanding of the needs of the people and being creative in our support.
