At Ashleigh House we support eight individuals who have multiple learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities, such as epilepsy. We can also support those with autistic spectrum conditions and those who may display some challenging behaviours.
Each of our residents have a personalised timetable of activities to meet their needs. As none of our residents are able to communicate verbally, the staff have adopted a variety of communication methods. This includes signing and symbols, to enable each person to make choices about activities, menus and changes to the service.
Our home is on the outskirts of Taunton, within a five minutes walk from the town centre. We have good relationships with our neighbours and make use of local facilities daily. Our aim is for everyone to participate in the community and have progression and personal development.
Ashleigh House is a converted large semi-detached town house situated in a suburb of Taunton. We have eight en-suite bedrooms, a large communal lounge, kitchen, dining area and conservatory. There are eight car parking spaces and gardens to the front and rear.
Our staff are positive and happy and provide consistent support, while never being afraid to try something different to open up new opportunities to our residents. We encourage independence and want each person to continue to develop as much as possible.
