16 Balnacraig Avenue is a seven-bedroom residential care home in Neasden, Northwest London. Our passionate team provide care and support for individuals with autism, learning and physical disabilities, Down’s syndrome, epilepsy and brain injuries.

Our expert team is committed to providing person-centred care and support to enable individuals to live fulfilled lives!

We have two wake night team members overnight, four to five team members in the morning and four in the evening to ensure the people we support are getting the care they need at all times of day.

Facilities

Our home has seven bedrooms and three bathrooms – great for private, personal care needs. We encourage the people we support to decorate their rooms to their own style and taste.

16 Balnacraig Avenue has been built with accessibility in mind, benefiting from a lift, wet rooms, ceiling tracking hoists, and adjustable beds, for support those with mobility needs!

Located in Neasden, we’re in reaching distance of neighbouring towns via great public transport links.

We also have many local amenities nearby such as restaurants, a garden centre, café, the temple, parks, supermarkets and a shopping arcade!

The people we support also enjoy therapeutic indoor activities such as nail care, pampering, music with exercise, and sensory baking. We even have a musician who visits us every Wednesday!

About Andrew

My names Andrew, as well as being passionate about delivering great quality care and support, I am also passionate about playing guitars, doing DIY, camping, and picking locks!

My working life started on the tools as an electronic wireman before joining the Royal Berkshire Ambulance service as an Assistant Ambulance Paramedic in 1991. I carried out emergency duties for almost 10 years before having to change careers due to a back injury.

I had been working for an agency supporting people with learning disabilities on my days off so took the opportunity of taking a role as a support worker in a learning disabilities residential care home in Hampshire. I progressed through the ranks within the organisation and managed my first registered service in 2001. For the same organisation I moved onto project managing for the set ups of new services for people with learning disabilities. Coincidently all these services are still running with the majority now being managed by you guessed it, Voyage Care! Voyage cares values attracted me to the roles, I did my research and found that the organisation really does live by them.

Since then, I have worked in supported living, domiciliary care services, set up and ran an activities service in Bedford, before being given a promotion to Operations Manager at the Fremantle Trust. I returned to working with learning disability services as Operations manager for Voyage Care in September 2023 and am embracing the new challenges and managing a portfolio in Greater London. The best thing is still working with people we support as well as a supportive team!

My core responsibilities include a long list encompassed by oversight of services and support of Managers to achieve company objectives to help develop their skills, monitor quality and pushing forward to meet financial objectives.

Over my career I have attained the following qualifications:

Certificate in Ambulance Aid
Certificate in Ambulance Driving (to police roadcraft)
Registered Managers award (RMA) Level 4
Award in education and training Level 3
Level 7 in Strategic Management and Leadership
I have also been a trained NAPPI trainer to level 2 as well as a Moving and Handling Trainer

About Ayesha

Ayesha joined Voyage Care in May 2015. She trained as a learning disability nurse and has worked within the social care sector since 1990 covering a wide range of children's and adults’ services. Ayesha has held a number of senior appointments and immediately prior to joining Voyage Care held the post of Director of Operations for one of the largest domiciliary care providers in England and Wales. Ayesha has first-hand experience of care pathways and the journey through step-down services, as a parent of a child with complex needs.
