We provide support for six adults with learning disabilities at our friendly bungalow. We can support you with physical disabilities, visual impairment, epilepsy, diabetes and early onset of dementia. Our residents are all over fifty years young and they are an active group who enjoy interacting with each other, chatting and socialising.
The dedicated team of staff are very positive and encourage personalised activity schedules, community involvement and skill development in day-to-day tasks.
The people living here are very active and enjoy frequent trips out including shopping, bowling, accessing day centres, attending local church groups and Special Olympics sports group. Popular activities in the home include jigsaws and games of bingo.
St Helens Down is a fully accessible bungalow, which is suitable for people who use mobility aids. There is a portable hoist for use throughout the home.
Our beautiful bungalow has an open plan layout and all bedrooms are on the ground floor and three have en-suite facilities. There is also a separate wet room and bathroom and a portable hoist for use throughout the home.
The garden is framed by woodland which encourages the local wildlife to visit – it is not uncommon to see a green woodpecker! There is an extensive decking area with a ramped walkway leading to a raised flower bed and garden. We like planting patio tubs and hanging baskets, growing vegetables and relaxing together, enjoying a nice barbecue.
