Voyage Care has welcomed Orchard Healthcare Group into the Voyage Care family, following the completion of its acquisition. Orchard is a respected specialist dementia care provider, known for delivering high-quality, person-centred support in the community.
Mike McKessar, Chief Executive of Voyage Care, said: “We are delighted to welcome Orchard Healthcare Group into the Voyage Care family. What makes this such a strong fit is the common ground between our organisations: specialist, person-centred care delivered in the community, with a focus on helping people with complex needs live fulfilling lives.
“Orchard’s Reconnect model responds to a significant and growing unmet need in complex dementia and mental health care. It is a high-quality model, grounded in the same principles that would shape our own approach to delivering this kind of specialist support. We have real confidence in Orchard’s expertise and colleagues, and together we have a strong platform to share learning and support more people who need specialist care.”
For the people supported by Orchard and Voyage Care, their families, colleagues and partners, the immediate priority is continuity. Care and support will continue as normal, and Orchard will continue to operate as a separate organisation.
Hayden Knight, Chief Executive of Orchard Healthcare Group, said: “This is a transformational step for both Orchard Healthcare Group and Voyage Care. Orchard will continue to build on its established purpose and identity while playing a pivotal role in the group’s future growth, reflecting the strength of its services, people and reputation.
“The alignment between Orchard and Voyage Care makes this a natural fit. By combining our complementary expertise and shared commitment to high-quality care, we’re creating a stronger organisation with greater opportunities to invest, innovate and improve outcomes for the people we support.”
Over the coming months, the focus will be on listening, building relationships and learning from what each organisation does best. This will provide a strong foundation to protect the quality and identity of Orchard’s services, strengthen specialist support and, ultimately, help more people living with complex dementia or mental health conditions receive the right care in their communities.
