Gemma Ghorbani

Gemma is the inspirational Service Manager of our New Fern service in West Yorkshire. The New Ferns service is a residential care facility devoted to supporting and nurturing young adults with Autism, challenging behaviours, and learning difficulties. Gemma has been a long-standing member of the New Fern staff, officially joining the Voyage Care company in 2021, when we acquired the service. Originally training as a midwife, Gemma entered the care sector straight from her degree of education and has never looked back. Gemma is an advocate for exceptional care and fervently believes that the right foundations and the right support network can allow staff to truly provide person-centred care; opening endless opportunities for both staff and the people they support. Gemma enthusiastically encourages supporting people to achieve goals and dreams, beyond expectations, and is committed to working collaboratively with a dedicated behaviour practitioner to explore methods and avenues of further supporting the residents at New Fern. Adapting a strategic but flexible approach to the care and support at New Fern, Gemma is a proactive and supportive manager who puts the interests of her staff and the people they support at the heart of all that she does. Gemma was commended as Care Home Manager of the year 2022, at the annual Voyage Care Awards.
