Leading the team at Pembroke Lodge, in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Donna has devoted her skills to the service since 2014. Onboarded to the Voyage Care portfolio of residential care homes in 2018, Donna has pursued a varied and exciting career under the roof of the CQC rated Good service. With a career that has been centred around care and social support, Donna started with Pembroke Lodge as bank staff whilst studying an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Having always exhibited a vested interest in working with people in a health care capacity, Donna’s dreams of becoming a nurse evolved into dedicating her naturally empathetic and caring nature into becoming a social support worker. Coupled with a degree in Social Care, her aptitude for problem solving and thinking outside the box in pressurised and difficult situations has seen Donna work her way up from a member of bank support staff, to titled service manager. Approaching her position with empathy for what her staff team require from her, Donna leads with a strong, confident persona that embraces challenges and difficult days, treating them as an opportunity to learn and create positive outcomes. Embracing the people we support and empowering them to achieve their goals and desires, Donna is deeply rewarded by the successes and smiles of the people in her care. Acknowledging that the team at Pembroke Lodge is like a branch of family for many of the residents, Donna proudly guides a team to embrace the ups and downs and be a firm constant in the lives of the people that they support.
