Ever since I was a little child, I've loved looking after other people. I have always really liked being around children and helping them.
I have previously worked at the Royal London Hospital on a general paediatric ward, specialising in haematology and oncology as well as respiratory conditions. I worked on the wards for about 10 years, but needed a new challenge.
I was recommended FHC by a friend and I was really impressed by the set-up and I was really interested in helping children with complex care needs in the community. I really enjoy being part of the Focused Healthcare team. Everyone is really well trained and knowledgeable and its like a little family.
In my role, I am responsible for ensuring safety and stability within the packages we support. I liaise with parents, staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure care plans, medications and processes are up to date and that everything is running smoothly. No two days are the same, and it's a challenging role, but it's nice to see the difference we are making to the lives of the children and young people we support and their families. Helping families is also a big part of the job and that's something else I really enjoy.
In my spare time I like to read fiction and I really enjoy singing a bit of soul, jazz and R&B. I used to be in a gospel choir with my local church and that's stayed with me over the years.
