The residents at Astbury View in the West Midlands asked staff if they could host their own talent contest. Over the last few weeks, they’ve been running auditions for staff to compete in their very own Astbury View’s Got Talent!

The “judges” aka the residents, even had a golden buzzer that gave one act a ticket straight to the final!

“The people we support voted for who they liked best and wanted to go through to the final. We had so many laughs throughout this time and some good acts that didn’t make it through. Morale was great amongst the staff team and the people we support” said Service Manager, Sheila.

It was then time for the big finale and resident Thomas had the important job of announcing the winner.

“I enjoyed the build up to the final and having lots of fun and everyone laughing and enjoying themselves watching all the acts,” said Thomas.

And the winner is… Night staff member Martin Allen, picked up the trophy, singing a song all about Astbury View!

Thomas gave a wonderful speech to introduce the winner and thank staff for their hard work:

“I would just like to thank everyone that took part to giving us a good day, we had lots of fun and laughter and I would like to thank Zoe for putting it all together with Sheila the manager and I know it is a very difficult time for all of us and I think all the staff have done a fantastic job keeping us all safe and deserve a big round applause for what they have done,” said Thomas.

“I enjoyed presenting the prize to the winner, his act was very good. A well-deserved winner,” added Thomas
