Riverway Lodge
Radcliffe Crescent, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, TS17 6BS
Located in Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, Riverway Lodge is a specialist home providing care and support to adults with a range of complex neurological conditions, including acquired brain injuries, functional neurological disorder, enduring or complex mental health conditions, neurobehavioural needs, and neurodegenerative conditions.
Our vibrant, purposefully designed home offers specialist support for up to 25 people along three distinct support pathways. Offering a circular approach, we offer full residential care, transitional living support, and extended stay accommodation for long-term support.
Along each pathway, we tailor our support to your unique support needs and goals, focusing on your abilities, enhancing your skills, and promoting a level of independence that’s right for you.
We believe recovery doesn’t stop after initial medical treatment. So, we offer a nurturing and supportive environment for you to relearn essential daily living skills and re-adapt to life in the community at your own pace. Our comfortable, stable environment empowers you with the skills and confidence to live with increased independence.
Rooted in compassion, we adopt positive behaviour support principles and a trauma-informed approach in every aspect of your care. Through this, we ensure you feel safe and confident to embrace changes and challenges and generate understanding and awareness of obstacles in your life. Together, we work with you to prioritise learning, empowering you to recognise your strengths and abilities, and regain control over your life.
Our state-of-the-art home is equipped to offer effective residential, transitional, and extended stay support. Split into three specialist wings, several areas of our home benefit from communal lounges with garden views, as well as access to our central therapy wing and opportunities to socialise with other housemates.
Throughout our home, each element has been carefully considered to support your wider needs. Curated to nurture positive emotional wellbeing, we’ve incorporated dedicated therapy areas and low stimulus spaces for sensory stability.
Our residential accommodation has been thoughtfully designed to support the initial phase of your rehabilitation journey. Ideal for those looking for a step-down solution from hospital, it also offers a reassuring step-up solution to those living in a community setting who would benefit from the specialist support of our expert team. Our purposefully adapted residential suite has 15 fully furnished bedrooms with en-suite wet room facilities. Some of our rooms are equipped with assistive technology and can be fitted with accessibility equipment based on your individual needs.
Alongside our full residential support, we offer two options for continuous care through transitional and extended stay accommodation. Our transitional accommodation offers added independence with the reassurance of residential support, bridging the gap between intensive support and living independently. Extended stays are available if you need to establish a long-term home with us. However long you’re with us, we’ll continue to work with you to understand what independence means to you. Together, we’ll set goals and support you to achieve them.
Both our transitional and extended stay pathways benefit from fully furnished flats located on the ground floor, featuring private bedrooms with wet room en-suite, open-plan kitchens and living areas, and the option to add additional accessibility features.
