Prader-Willi syndrome

Prader-Willi syndrome is a rare genetic condition affecting approximately 2000 people in the UK. Caused by a defect to chromosome 15, the condition impacts the brain’s ability to regulate the hormones responsible for appetite, growth, and emotions.

As a result, individuals with the condition are unable to feel satisfied after eating, leading to an excessive appetite and overeating. Prader-Willi syndrome is also commonly associated with developmental delays, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges. But with specialist care and support, individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome can lead healthy and fulfilling lives!

How we support you

Our expert teams understand the unique needs of individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome. Through our person-centred approach, we put you at the heart of your care, learning all about you as an individual, including your likes and dislikes.

We recognise the associated dietary challenges of Prader-Willi syndrome and how overwhelming it can be to manage these without the correct guidance and support. That’s why we provide tailored guidance and create balanced, calorie-controlled menus, that leave room for treats in moderation.
