Specialist support and slow stream rehabilitation
Our support embraces slow stream rehabilitation. With this approach, we take a holistic view of your life, considering your background, social environment, and future needs. Focusing on long-term goals, our slow stream rehabilitation uses both creative and practical tools to support you to achieve your ambitions.
By gradually phasing rehabilitation, our slow stream approach gently supports you to redevelop cognitive awareness, regain social skills, recognise risks, and safely navigate your new world.
Therapies
As part of our slow stream rehabilitation programmes, we use evidenced-based therapies to enhance positive outcomes and goal attainment. An extension of our person-centred philosophy, our core therapy provision is designed to offer circular support, helping you confidently address dormant emotional traumas and environmental complications – empowering you to move forward with your rehabilitation.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Working on cognitions like learning, awareness and reactions, our CBT partners support you to recognise and change unhelpful behaviours and develop more positive responses to the world around you.
Psychology
Our Psychologists support you to understand your motivations and behaviours, unclog stuck emotions, and gain greater insight into who you are as a person.
Occupational Therapy
Focusing on everyday tasks, like showering and cooking, our Occupational Therapists use functional, evidence-based approaches to support you to regain lost skills and regain control over your life.
Speech and Language Therapy (SALT)
Using a variety of tools, our SALT therapists aid facial muscle redevelopment and target areas of the brain responsible for speaking, supporting impaired communication. Our SALT therapists also support people with dysphagia by retraining the muscles of the throat.
Physiotherapy
Our Physiotherapy partners are specially trained to understand how brain injuries affect mobility. Using clinically proven techniques, they support you to regain strength and coordination in your spine and lower body.
Creative therapies
Underpinned by Psychotherapy, creative therapies like Art, Music, and Dramatherapy support you to accept your injury, process past trauma, and carefully explore your world from a new perspective.
Delivering these therapies within social care settings offers you the opportunity to exercise your skills in functional settings, further increasing awareness and independence.
Improving quality of life
We actively engage you with your local community. By doing this, we educate neighbouring organisations and individuals, fostering nurturing, inclusive places for you to thrive.
A key part of our approach to brain injury rehabilitation is to promote and improve quality of life. Whether you’re engaged in active rehabilitation, or need long-term care and support, our collaborative process ensures you reach their potential and embrace a level of independence that’s right for you.
