Markham house is a specialist brain injury rehabilitation service located in Chesterfield. Our dedicated team uses a person-centred approach to support up to 17 adults with brain injuries and complex neurological needs. Offering a holistic approach to rehabilitation, we empower you to develop your cognitive and practical skills, and regain your independence.

Our team

We understand the rehabilitation pathway can seem like a long, winding road. Choosing a home that understands and supports your unique needs, preferences, and values is important. So, before you join us, our compassionate and friendly team regularly visit you and get to know you. With thier support, you’ll soon feel like part of the family!

Once you’ve joined our household, we’ll work with you to design a bespoke, person-centred support plan. Together, we’ll establish what’s important to you and set some realistic goals. With daily specialist support from our team, and input from industry-leading therapists, we’ll ensure your care and support evolves as you progress.

Facilities

Situated in a quiet area, our spacious home has 17 en-suite bedrooms as well as large communal areas, including a lounge, art room, and a kitchen-diner.

Just next door is our day centre where we have a quiet room, games, and a training kitchen – great for perfecting your cooking skills!

We also have a large, enclosed garden complete with patio area. We encourage all housemates to spend time in nature by helping to maintain the garden. It’s a great way to keep active and practice different skills!

We have a separate annex at the top of our garden, featuring several open-plan, wheelchair accessible bungalows. These are designed for people who are ready to reduce their support and embrace independence within a safe environment, before transitioning back into the community.
