Driving Up Quality Code

The Driving Up Quality Code is a guide for providers and commissioners developed by the Driving Up Quality Alliance.

It was created following the abuse of people with a learning disability and autism at Winterbourne View and forms part of an action plan to end abuse in health and social care settings.

Our commitment

Signing up to the code demonstrates our unwavering commitment to continuously improving the quality of support we offer to people with complex needs across the country.

Support is focused on the person.

The person is supported to have an ordinary and meaningful life.

Care and support focused on people being happy and having an excellent quality of life.

A good culture is important to the organisation.

Managers and board members lead and run the organisation well.

Each year, as part of our devotion to the code, we complete an organisational self-assessment and devise an action plan for improvements we need to make. Both are created and published in conjunction with the people we support and their loved ones, ensuring they remain at the heart of all we do.
