We’ve secured two finalist spots in the HealthInvestor Awards 2025!
For almost 20 years, the HealthInvestor Awards have celebrated outstanding achievements across the health and social care sector. These prestigious awards are a respected achievement and mark of excellence within the industry.
This year, we’ve received finalist spots in two categories – Specialist Care Provider of the Year, Supported Living and Homecare, and Specialist Provider of the Year, Large Group Setting!
Our previous award wins include Community Support Provider of the Year, 2021 and 2022, and Specialist Care Provider of the Year, 2016 and 2021.
These achievements reflect our dedication to delivering high-quality care and support and are testament to the life-changing work of our teams.
Empowering meaningful and fulfilling lives
Across Britain, our teams provide high quality, specialist care and support for people with learning disabilities, brain injuries, autism, and other complex care needs. We currently support over 3,500 incredible people at over 500 registered locations. Using our 35+ years’ experience, we create and deliver person-centred care and support that truly meets individual needs.
Each day, through our person-centred approach, we empower each person we support to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Whether they’re ticking off small wins or smashing big goals, we ensure our support reinforces them to fulfil their aspirations and recognise their strengths and talents.
Specialist support in the community
Our nomination within the Specialist Care Provider of the Year, Supported Living and Homecare category demonstrates how our person-centred approach has maintained our commitment to managing an evolving complexity of needs within our community support settings.
Within these settings, we’ve modified how we work, providing specialist support in non-clinical settings. The outcome of this unique approach is support that expands people’s horizons and nurtures cooperative and collaborative relationships between our services and the communities around them.
Alongside our registered care homes, our support network extends to over 106,000 community hours, empowering people with complex needs to establish and maintain their independence in the comfort of their own homes.
Commitment to quality
Since our previous nominations at the HealthInvestor Awards, we’ve continuously maintained our unmatched reputation for quality.
As of January 2025, over 89% of our services in England are rated Good or Outstanding according to the Care Quality Commission, and our operations in Scotland and Wales are 100% compliant.
Most of our Outstanding services are within the network of our innovative specialism programme. Through this program, we partner with other industry experts to establish and implement a cohesive and efficient best practice approach throughout our dedicated homes and services.
Specialist behavioural support
As part of our finalist place for HealthInvestor’s Specialist Provider of the Year, Supported Living and Homecare division, an area we’re particularly proud of was at the centre of our achievements.
Over the course of the year, we’ve seen increasingly positive performance within our most complex Specialist Behavioural Support Services (SBSS). These services offer bespoke, intensive support for people with learning disabilities who have a range of additional needs, including challenging behaviours, forensic backgrounds, and mental health conditions.
Our flexible SBSS support model aligns closely with the Transforming Care National Service Model and empowers the people we support to safely transition from secure facilities and inpatient settings back into their communities.
To extend our provision, we’re working within the Transforming Care Partnerships initiative. Through these pockets of partnerships across the country, care providers, charities, and commissioners work with people with learning disabilities, autism, and other complex needs to develop support solutions that prevent crisis admissions to hospitals and mental health settings. Together, we empower them to effectively manage their complex needs and safely remain in the community.
Experience and evolution
Our previous successes and current finalist spots at the HealthInvestor Awards pay tribute to our commitment to evolving our organisation and the support we offer. Continuously seeking new opportunities to broaden the reach of our support, we maintain a natural evolution in the effectiveness and efficiency of our life-changing support.
Alongside our achievements with the people we support, we’ve experienced exciting change across our organisation, further developing and empowering the support we offer to vulnerable in England, Scotland, and Wales.
Through this, we’ve been able to work with specialist partners to develop new services based on trusted operational models.
So far, we’ve celebrated the opening of a brand-new specialist Prader-Willi Syndrome service and two state-of-the-art brain injury rehabilitation services, with a further two due to open in spring this year. All our services offer community-based support, delivered by highly skilled, experienced teams.
Winners will be announced at the HealthInvestor Awards ceremony in London on 4 June 2025.
