High-quality care at home

Our care is led by experienced nurses. We have an evidence-based approach which adheres to all national guidelines for the care and safeguarding of children and young adults.

Complex care provided is based on clinical competencies outlined by the NHS, Great Ormond Street Hospital and other clinical settings and is overseen by a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager. This ensures care delivered is safe and of a high quality through robust clinical governance.

Areas of expertise

Our nurses and healthcare assistants are trained by registered Clinical Nurse Educators in a variety of specialist skills and clinical approaches. These are typically delivered in a hospital or in a high dependency setting, but with our help, can be delivered at home or in the community. This includes:

  • Bowel management
  • Catheterisation
  • Chest physiotherapy
  • Colostomy and ileostomy care
  • Diabetes management
  • Epilepsy & seizure management
  • Nutrition & hydration
  • Oxygen therapy

  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilation needs

Collaborative approach

We are passionate about the role we play in keeping children and young people safe, healthy, happy and supporting them to lead the lives they truly deserve.

When it comes to children and young people with complex care needs, there are lots of people involved in ensuring individuals can achieve their health, mental, emotional and social goals.

That’s why we take a collaborative approach to the care and support we deliver. By working with each person, their families, CCGs, Local Authorities and other community bodies involved in supporting them, we help children and young people to lead healthy, happy and fulfilled lives.

Case study

Baby Eva has a very rare condition called KCNQ2 Mutation Class V which causes seizures. She is also diagnosed with global developmental, learning difficulties and gastroesophageal reflux.

When Eva was born, her mum and dad found managing a new baby with complex needs quite challenging and stressful, especially as new parents. As a result, we were brought in to deliver a care package to support baby Eva and her family at home.

In the last two years, we’ve worked with the family to develop techniques and reduce the frequency of Eva’s seizures. We’ve built a great relationship with Eva’s parents and they are happy with the support we’ve provided so far. They now have a consistent care team that help them to feel more supported while offering structure to their lives.

Eva's mum Esther said, "Your support has been a lifeline for us. We are able to have some much needed respite while Eva is cared for by highly trained healthcare assistants who know and understand her needs."

We can provide nurse-led care and support in children and young people’s homes or support them to access their local community.
