The Laurels provides support for adults with learning disabilities and additional needs such as Prader-Willi Syndrome, epilepsy, autism and obsessive behaviours.
Supporting you
Each person at the Laurels is supported using a range of proactive and creative approaches to spend their time positively and further their unique interests, skills and abilities. Some of the ladies at The Laurels communicate verbally, whilst others depend on additional visual resources, Makaton and other personalised communication systems.
The varied interests of our residents include taking long walks, pottery, pampering sessions, going to local charity shops and cafes and social activities such as bowling. There are two house vehicles to facilitate getting out and about locally and further afield. The ladies enjoy busy days filled with opportunities such as film making, drama, music and movement and swimming.
Facilities
The Laurels is a spacious detached house in Titchfield with five bedrooms in the main house and a one-bedroom annexe to the rear of the house with its own garden and private entrance. The Laurels has a very large dining room which opens onto the generous back garden and adjoins the kitchen. The ground floor hallways are bright and wide and there is a spacious ground floor bathroom.

Community
The Laurels backs onto fields and offers a quiet location near to Titchfield village and Locks Heath which has a small shopping centre. There are rail services nearby at Swanwick and Fareham. Fareham and Whiteley are just a short bus or car ride away and both offer larger shopping facilities. Portsmouth city and harbour is also easily accessible offering a wide range of local attractions.
