At New Fern, we support a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour, and associated complex needs. We also support long-term mental health conditions that require dedicated daily care and support.

We encourage you to develop your skills and work towards your unique goals and aspirations. You’re supported to make choices and express your hopes and wishes using a form of communication that’s comfortable for you. We’ll work with you to identify what a fulfilling life means to you, tailoring activities and other opportunities so you can achieve this. So, if you want to get a part-time job or explore a college course, we’ll set realistic, achievable goals to help you do that!

Facilities

New Fern is a spacious five-bed home situated in the village of Ovenden, Halifax. Split across three floors, we have four large bedrooms on the first floor and one on the second floor. Our private bedrooms are complete with en-suite facilities and further complemented by a variety of accessible communal rooms. These include a large lounge, dining room, quiet area, sensory room, and assisted showering/bathing facilities. Our spacious, modern kitchen is equipped with essential appliances, perfect for developing daily living skills, like cooking, or getting creative and having fun with activities like baking!

To the rear of the property, we have a cosy garden that’s perfect for enjoying some sunshine and fresh air. We also love to pop outside to relax and listen to the sounds of local nature.
