Five Penny House is a welcoming residential care home in Hartlepool, County Durham. We specialise in supporting up to six females with a learning disability, physical disabilities, and additional communication needs.

Facilities
Five Penny House is thoughtfully designed to meet a wide range of needs, while offering all the comforts of home.
Our six spacious bedrooms are located on the first floor, and can be personalised with your own furniture and decorations to make it truly your own. A lift provides easy access to the upper level, ensuring full accessibility throughout the home.
We have a range of shared communal areas, including a light and airy open-plan kitchen, dining area and lounge – ideal for socialising, relaxing or getting involved in daily living tasks. Our large, private garden is a favourite spot for many, offering space to enjoy nature, do a bit of gardening or simply soak up some sunshine.
To support personal care and mobility needs, the home is fully equipped with hoists, mobility aids and accessible wet rooms, allowing us to provide dignified care in a safe and supportive environment.

We regularly enjoy trips into Hartlepool and surrounding areas thanks to excellent public transport links and our own service vehicle.
We love planning fun and engaging outings to local attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, the beach, and Beamish. These trips are not only enjoyable but also help build confidence, independence, and meaningful life experiences.
Of course, there’s lots of fun to be had at home too! From arts and crafts sessions to themed celebration days, movie nights and baking afternoons, there’s always something going on.
Our Team
Our warm, approachable team are passionate about creating a positive, inclusive environment. We are always looking for ways to make your day meaningful – whether through community involvement, creative projects, or simply sharing a laugh together.
We’re trained to support a range of health needs, including epilepsy, dementia, diabetes, and dysphagia. We are always happy to provide additional training for other support needs, ensuring a high standard of care at all times.
