Our Home

Fennell Court is a residential care home located in Dewsbury. We provide care and support for up to eight individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs and low levels of challenging behaviour.

At Fennell Court, we create person-centred care plans designed to the needs, interests and aspirations of the people we support.

Each individual is encouraged to engage in activities they enjoy. As a household, we enjoy shopping, meals out, ‘fake-away’ nights, horse-riding, bowling, and walks. The people we support also enjoy taking part in activities at home, including baking, arts and crafts, and dancing!

We regularly visit Sensory World, a fun sensory-focused play centre, which supports additional sensory needs.

Facilities

Our spacious, detached home is spread across two floors, comprising eight self-contained apartments. All of our apartments feature a kitchen-diner, lounge, and bedroom. Each apartment has been designed to meet additional mobility needs. They are equipped with adjustable counter tops in the kitchens and modern wet rooms.

In addition to private living spaces, we offer homely communal areas for socialising and activities.

At the rear of our home, we have a private garden, where we grow our own vegetables. We love to prepare fresh, home-cooked meals using produce straight from the garden!

Community

Our home is located just three miles from the local town and is conveniently situated on a main bus route. The town offers a range of amenities including a library, shops, and supermarkets. A popular bowling and amusement arcade also provides fresh food and refreshments!

Even closer to the service, there are local shops and healthcare facilities. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there is a nearby park and scenic walking routes along the greenway.

Our Team

Our compassionate team provides 24-hour support, with two waking night team members always on duty. We also have occasional sleep-in cover to ensure consistent, person-centred care.

The team bring empathy and kindness to their roles, listening closely to the people we support to make sure they feel heard, understood, and empowered in their care.

All team members receive regular training to ensure they stay up to date with the latest standards, skills, and best practices!
