Our Home

Barley Close is a residential care home located Axminster, Devon. Here, we provide care and support for up to 10 people with a learning disability, autism, epilepsy, and Down’s syndrome.

At Barley Close, we’re proud to have a dedicated, compassionate team. We offer round-the-clock care and support, with two waking night team members on duty to ensure consistent care throughout the night.

Through active, person-centred care and support, we help you understand your strengths and abilities, develop daily living skills, and achieve your personal goals. By promoting independence both at home and within the wider community, we support you to lead a life that’s fulfilling and meaningful to you!

Our vibrant home offers lots of interactions and activities every day. Currently, we enjoy arts and crafts, watching movies, visiting the local beach, day trips to Plymouth, and venturing to Taunton to visit the aquarium and go bowling.

Facilities

Nestled in the countryside, our warm and inviting home is split across two floors and features several communal areas, including a lounge, dining room, conservatory, and a calming sensory room.

Our home also has a lovely garden – perfect for relaxing in the sun. If you enjoy gardening, we encourage you to grow your own fruit and vegetables in the garden area.
