At Edgecumbe House we provide care and support for ten people with a mild to moderate learning disability and autism. We also have lots of experience of supporting people with complex or challenging needs.
Supporting you
Everyone at our home is encouraged to participate in a programme of activities that reflects their individual choices and preferences. We have strong links with the community and access local facilities. Some of the people we support attend college, others have work placements.
We recognise the importance of relationships with family and friends and visitors are welcome at any reasonable time. We also support people to develop new friendships. We encourage everyone to participate in house meetings and become involved in recruiting new staff, if they wish.
Facilities
Edgecumbe House is a large Edwardian House. The bedrooms and communal areas are spacious and well-furnished. There are ten bedrooms; all have ensuite facilities and three have kitchens to facilitate progress towards semi-independent living.
We have a sensory room and a large mature garden surrounding the property, with areas of this developed as sensory gardens.
