At West Drive we provide care and support for ten individuals with a learning disability, challenging behaviour, autism and associated disabilities.
The home is in Arlesey, a small village three miles from Hitchin. We encourage everyone to make the most of local facilities. Activities currently enjoyed include bowling, gym sessions and swimming. There are also education opportunities; North Hertfordshire College provides a number of day courses for adults with learning disabilities. We also offer a varied programme of activities internally within the home.
West Drive has a number of communal rooms, giving people the option to spend time with others or alone as they wish. We also offer a varied programme of activities internally. There is an activity room where residents can take part in art and aromatherapy sessions, a computer room with internet access and a quiet room with soft lighting where people can sit and listen to music and relax.
There is also a well-maintained garden with a large patio area and garden furniture. It is the ideal place to sit and enjoy the views over the surrounding countryside. The high level of staff enables everyone to become involved in the day to day running of West Drive.
The kitchen has been carefully designed to allow all individuals to participate in the preparation of meals. West Drive has ten bedrooms with en-suite facilities and two bungalows for more independent living.
