BAPs awards 2021: Children’s Complex Care sponsors best Newcomer!

BAPs SEND Blog Awards 2021 logo

We are pleased to announce that Children’s Complex Care by Voyage Care are supporting this year’s 2021 Bloody Awesome Parents (BAPs) awards, by sponsoring the Newcomer Award!

Founded by Bringing Us Together and My Family Our Needs, the BAPs awards are the only dedicated Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) blogging awards to exist.

Each year the BAPs awards recognise outstanding parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs bloggers from the SEND community.

From parent bloggers, to individuals spreading awareness, the BAPs awards brings together incredible SEND champions from across the UK. And this year is no different.

Children’s Complex Care at Voyage Care are absolutely thrilled to be supporting such worthy awards. We need to recognise the unsung heroes out there! Without them, we would not have made the progress we have in SEND awareness and acceptance.

New bloggers on the block

We’re delighted to confirm we are sponsoring the coveted Newcomer award at this year’s ceremony on 3 November 2021.

This award celebrates people that have only started their SEND blogging journey in last 18 months, yet they’re already making a difference to the communities they’ve built.

The finalists for the Newcomer category this year are:

BAPs awards Newcomer Finalist - Image of Rebecca, the mum behind A Boy Less Ordinary.

A Boy Less Ordinary

Rebecca is mum to JJ age nine. JJ has autism and undiagnosed Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). In her blog, Rebecca shares glimpses into their world as she rethinks parenting while supporting JJ as he navigates his new-found SEND world.

Neurodiverse Adventures

Amanda is mum to two autistic children and has recently been diagnosed with Autism herself, sparking new conversations online. Through her blog, Amanda educates and spreads awareness, in the hope of changing the autism narrative.

Our Life Loving Lucas

Kerry-Ann documents life as she supports her son Lucas, who has Downs Syndrome. The blog, formed in May 2020, has built a community that celebrates Lucas’ highs, lows, challenges and achievements while spreading awareness.

Lots of luck!

All four BAPs awards Newcomer nominees are worthy finalists, generating awareness and conversation in the SEND community and beyond. We wish them all the very best of luck for the night!
