Why two resignations brought a smile to our Director of Quality
‘I was absolutely delighted today to receive news of not one, but two resignations in the team’
Amanda Griffiths
Receiving a resignation letter is usually very upsetting experience – to hear that a member of your team will be leaving is never easy, but when Shannon and Kayleigh’s letters were received we were overwhelmed with joy for them both.
Shannon and Kayleigh both went through vigorous training, interviews and inductions to become Voyage Care quality checkers – they joined our auditors in assessing the quality of many Voyage Care residential care homes across the country over the last eighteen months. Having lived in at the homes themselves they were perfect for evaluating the level of quality in our care and support and they both excelled in their roles.
Using the skills they had learnt on the job, both Shannon and Kayleigh decided to move on to an even bigger challenge. With support and encouragement from staff, they both sourced vacancies, applied, interviewed and got their dream jobs. Shannon said
‘Being a quality checker helped me interact with people and develop my people skills and to work in a professional manner, I enjoyed being a quality checker when I went to the different properties and this gave me confidence to go for my current job’
‘It’s an amazing outcome for them and an inspiration for the rest of the team.’ Amanda Griffiths.
