Aiding Connor to live in his own home

Connor*, who has learning disabilities, ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and fragile X syndrome, has been supported by Voyage Care since October 2016, after having some problems with his previous healthcare provider.

His story

He received 14 and a half 1:1 support hours per day at one of our services in the West Midlands. He was on controlled medications to manage his challenging behaviour.

Connor’s* support plan was reviewed after six months and ever since, he has gone from strength to strength. He now only receives seven 1:1 support hours per day and his medication has been reduced significantly.

After becoming more independent, with the support from his staff team, He completed a course organised by The Prince’s Trust in July 2017.

Connor* is now attending college twice a week and is focusing on his long-term goal – to live in his own home.
