Career Study
Helen
I started work at Beechmount in Johnstone in November 2004, working 21 hours a week over three shifts. I completed my SVQ 3 in care and in September 2006 successfully applied for a full time post as a senior support worker. In March 2009 I became Depute Manager at Beechmount and I am now working towards my SVQ4 in care and have registered with the SSSC.
During my time with Voyage I have been supported by my colleagues and managers to develop my skills in each of the roles I have taken on. I feel that the training I have received has given me opportunities for self development. I enjoy working with the people we support at Beechmount. I also enjoy the challenges which have been presented by various changes while I have been with the company.
