People we support
This is a new addition to our website. We have over 1,700 service users, a selection of whom were keen to share with you their experiences and some snippets from their busy lives. There are lots of other stories in the Kite in the news section.

Dawn - Dawn who lives at one of our supported living services wrote to tell us how much she enjoys her job at Sainsbury's.

Michael (Mikey) - Michael, who has the complex eating condition Prader Willi Syndrome, came to one of our North Nottinghamshire homes in March 2002. He reflected on the reasons for his need to move into residential care at that particular time as he was living at home with parents and starting agricultural college at Askham Bryan near York.

David - David, who lives in one of our services in East Yorkshire, wrote to tell us how he spends his leisure time. David produces some amazing pencil drawings and has agreed to share some of these pictures with us.

Stephen - Read Stephen's letter of thanks to the staff at the acquired brain injury service who supported him and with their help he has now been able to move on to supported living close to his family. Look at the super paintings he produced whilst living at the service in the West Midlands.

Meg - Meg is a 71yr old lady who has suffered for many years with a severe anxiety disorder. Unfortunate circumstances led Meg into a spiral of depression and anxiety after the death of her baby and the break up of her marriage. Meg has lived at one of our services in Scotland for the last four years and she has become an integral part of the home.

John - John moved into one of our Voyage services in the Midlands on the 1st October 2004. He had been taken into a hospital when he went into crisis after the death of his mother. John has Asperger's Syndrome and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which made his grief even more difficult for him to cope with.

Natalie - Natalie lives in one of our supported living services in North Yorkshire. Natalie (or Nat as she likes to be known) talks about how her life has improved and how she is continually building up her skills and independence.
