Activities for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other complex needs
Our day services are very different to traditional day centres. They offer a range of activities for adults with learning disabilities and other complex needs.
You can choose which activities you would like to take part in. These make use of local facilities, rather than taking place in a dedicated building.
Activities can include sports, creative arts, day trips or social events, plus many more. You do not have to take part in activities on a ‘9 to 5’ basis. Instead you can choose to take part in trips at weekends and in the evenings.
You will be supported to design a personalised plan of activities which match your interests. There is also the opportunity to have support with daily living skills, such as cooking and using public transport. This can help you to achieve your goals.
Day services offer activities for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other needs. Many of the services were developed when more traditional services were unable to provide meaningful activities.
‘Don’t let anything get in the way of what you want to achieve. If something cannot be done one way, find an alternative’.
Bird and Animal Centres
Voyage has two well established farms in Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire. There is also birds of prey centre in Lincolnshire and a wildlife project in Taunton.
The therapeutic effect that working with birds and animals can have is clear to see. You can choose to work towards qualifications in animal care and attend weekly classes. Alternatively you can visit the centres occasionally for a day out. Each centre offers a range of indoor and outdoor activities for adults with learning disabilities and other needs.
