Michael volunteers at Hands On in Sandwell

During a keyworker meeting, Michael, one of the people we support, said that he wanted to contribute to some voluntary work in the community. After some research with Sandwell Voluntary team, Michael was supported to attend a local voluntary event called Hands On.

Michael attended a local community day centre as a volunteer, and, with support from his support worker, helped greet the elderly local community into the centre, and spent quality time talking to them. Michael also supported to serve tea and cake.

Michael also participated in a game of bingo at the event, and was pleased to win a prize!

Michael is looking forward to contributing to future local community voluntary events in the future.

1-7 June marks Volunteers Week, read more about our fantastic volunteers.
