Congrats to our very own, Alderman Walker!

In November of last year, Voyage Care’s Janette Walker was awarded with one of the highest accolades in the city of Leeds.

The Operations Manager, who is a former councillor and campaigner for dementia care, was surrounded by her family and the Leeds City Council Chief Executive Tom Riordan as she signed the register of city aldermen and received her medal.

Over the years, Janette has had a successful career in politics having previously won The Great British Care Award-Frontline Leader in Care and being a Councillor between 2012 and 2018 - first in Headingley Ward, followed by Cross Gates & Whinmoor Ward.

Janette said;

“To receive this great honour is a very pleasing way to end my career in politics and civic life. My career outside politics and campaigning on local issues of importance to me and my city will keep me busy I’m sure. I thank my independent colleagues on council for honouring me in this way”.

Huge congratulations, Janette!
