With a lot of dedication, exercise and support from staff, Amanda, who lives at our Lavender House care home has halved her weight in eight years!
When Amanda first moved to Lavender House in Wiltshire she weighed 22 stone. Amanda suffered with swollen legs and feet, and often got out of breathe quickly whilst walking. With support from staff, the 42 year old resident decided that nothing was going to weigh her down so embarked on a new healthier lifestyle.
Our staff worked with Amanda to create a healthy eating plan, which she really enjoyed. Amanda also increased her daily fitness activities, such as going to aqua fit and swimming once a week, horse riding and even walking into her local town.
With some hard work and motivation, Amanda now weighs 10 stone and 9 pounds.
Well done Amanda – this is a great achievement!
