Voyage (DCA) Somerset & Devon

We have experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other complex needs, both at home and in the community. We can provide support for nursing and personal care needs.

All our staff are subject to appropriate checks and are given specialist training tailored to the needs of the people they support. We can provide support to meet your needs, ranging from a few hours a week to 24 hours a day. We can support you to enjoy activities of your choice - this could include taking part in sports, going to the cinema or bowling or meeting up with friends.

We can help you to find out about education and job opportunities in your area and support you through the application process. We can then help you to travel to and attend college or work, if you wish.

We also have experience of supporting people to find somewhere to live, look after their home, find out what benefits they are entitled to and manage their money. We can put you in touch with landlords in your local area who may have vacant tenancies and can support you through each stage of applying for a tenancy and moving to your new home.

About me

Ellen has worked in Health and Social Care at senior executive level for various organisations over the past 25 years. More recently, Ellen worked in a national role as Managing Director, supporting people with learning difficulties and mental health needs, both in supported living settings and specialist care homes.

“My professional and personal values demand that people who are vulnerable through health or social difficulties have a fundamental right to high quality and effective care and support. I am passionate about the work that I do and value and respect the contribution of our staff who ensure that the people we support have good experiences."

About me

I currently live in Cornwall and have worked in the health and social care sector for over 20 years. I started as a support worker after leaving university and have worked in a variety of roles such as trainer, Registered Manager and Head of Operations for a large local autism charity and more recently other large providers as a Regional Manager.

I take pride in my work and that of my team and will always strive to improve in what is a complex and ever-changing sector.
