Walsworth Road is a home for six people with a learning disability and associated needs. The aim of the home is to provide a warm, welcoming and safe environment while promoting independence, encouraging each resident to lead as ordinary a life as possible and supporting them to develop new skills and experience new opportunities.
Supporting you
We empower and support residents to make choices in their everyday lives. Everyone is supported and encouraged by experienced members of staff to build everyday life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal shopping.
Residents are also encouraged to participate in the recruitment and selection process of potential staff members and monthly meetings are held to discuss any concerns, issues or ideas for the home.
The people we support and their families and friends have input into th residents person-centred care plans and are highly involved to achieve the best possible outcomes. Families are very involved and many have weekly visits. The residents living in the home have access to services from local professionals including GPs, Community Nurses, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, other medical professionals.
