How house rules made a happy home

Amanda and Jenny shared a house with some other tenants. The household was becoming unhappy, as each tenant believed they did more than others to maintain the home, causing conflicts between them.

Staff facilitated a house meeting for Amanda, Jenny and the other tenants to attend and discuss their differences. It was agreed that a cleaning rota would be implemented identifying set responsibilities. House rules were also agreed and the staff rota was amended to ensure adequate staffing levels.

The cleaning of their home became a communal/shared experience, which resulted in it being more sociable and engaging. The atmosphere in the household improved and the ladies’ home was safe and clean. Tenants were able to come together whilst still having their individual space when the wanted to.
