Aiding Callam to live in his own home

Callam, who has learning disabilities, ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and fragile X syndrome, has been supported by Voyage Care since October 2016, after having some problems with his previous healthcare provider.
The then-20 year old received 14 and a half 1:1 support hours per day at our Burton-on-Trent home, and was on controlled medications to manage his challenging behaviour.

Callam’s support plan was reviewed after six months and ever since, he has gone from strength to strength. Callam now only receives seven 1:1 support hours per day and his medication has been reduced significantly.

After becoming more independent, with the support from his staff team, Callam completed a course organised by The Prince’s Trust in July 2017.

Callam is now attending college twice a week and is focusing on his long-term goal – to live in his own home.
